Umm Al Quwain is very safe and extremely quiet. Standard UAE customs apply: dress modestly and respect local norms. It is a low-key emirate with a traditional feel.
A car is the practical way to explore Umm Al Quwain and its mangroves; public transport is minimal. It is an easy drive from Ajman, Sharjah and Dubai.
