A 5-day hands-on Ayurvedic cooking and cultural immersion in Kerala — cook for your dosha, prepare a banana-leaf Sadhya and take home your own recipe book and spice kit.

About this experience

Long before modern medicine, there was the kitchen. In Kerala, the hearth has always been sacred — a place where healing begins, where spices are not just flavour but pharmacy, and where every meal is an act of devotion. Kitchen of the Ancients is a 5-day hands-on journey into the heart of India's most profound culinary tradition. You will learn to cook the way Kerala's grandmothers have cooked for centuries.

Exceptional experience

I loved absolutely everything: yoga sessions with Prashant, chai tea each morning, our talks, the food cooked by two lovely Indian ladies, and activities like badminton and sightseeing. Our evening meditations were wonderful. I took this great energy back home and highly recommend this experience. A very special place with amazing values.

A little piece of heaven

I will never forget my stay at Antharyamin. It gave me space to step away from the noise of busy UK life. The views of the mountains are the best I've seen. My days here gave me an insight into traditional Indian yoga, the Ayurvedic way of living, connections with amazing people, clarity and memories that will stay with me forever.

An amazing experience!

This retreat was simply amazing. I went in not knowing what to expect, but it exceeded any expectations I had. The whole concept — from the daily wellbeing activities and practices to the food, the information given and the treatments — was incredible. My only regret was not booking longer!

Peace, balance and renewal

The retreat was truly a transformative experience. The location was peaceful and immersed in nature. The instructor was incredibly knowledgeable, attentive and genuinely passionate. Each session combined physical postures, breathwork and meditation in a balanced way. The meals were healthy, delicious and prepared with care. Highly recommend!

Honey for the soul

It is one of the most beautiful places in Kerala. Flowers, birds, butterflies and beautiful trees surround you and give you peace and gratitude. People are very kind and supportive.

Transformative and heavenly

A beautiful birthday treat and special surprise from Prasanth and Veena. I learnt so much and felt like my real self in this beautiful haven. After roughly 10 years of yoga in the UK, I learnt more in this week and gained a real understanding of yoga. The week was truly transformative for me.

Awesome and restful

This place is awesome, restful, calm and soothing. The garden and the view are so beautiful. Yoga in the morning at sunrise and meditation with Prasanth is perfect for body and soul. Everyone is very kind and caring. Ayurvedic treatments and massages are incredible. I recommend this place to everyone who wants to disconnect, relax and have an amazing experience in Kerala.

Fantastic Experience!

The helpful hosts who customise your stay to all your needs and expectations. The unique location with a lot of love and attention to detail. The Ayurvedic food with herbs, fruit and veggies from the property. The energising morning and evening routines with yoga and meditation to start and end the day. 8 days was too short, so I added 3 more days.
